The outflow of funds from Russian citizens to foreign banks has stopped

For the second month in a row, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation has recorded a net outflow of household funds from foreign banks — in January, citizens transferred 12 billion rubles more from their foreign accounts to Russian banks than they withdrew. In December 2024, the figure was 6 billion rubles.

The total balance on deposits of Russian citizens in foreign banks decreased by 306.1 billion rubles at the beginning of this year.

Experts note that the return of personal finances to Russia is influenced by the growth of positive sentiment, the strengthening of the ruble, high deposit rates in Russian banks and the revival of the domestic stock market
