During the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Flame of Memory, a particle of Eternal Flame from the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, will arrive in Cyprus again. This sacred symbol of generational unity, courage and love will be carried across the island — from Nicosia to Limassol, from memorials to living hearts.

🇨🇾The “Fire of Memory” campaign has been taking place in Cyprus for several years, bringing together compatriots, Russophiles, Cypriots and all those who cherish the memory of the feat. But in the jubilee year, this fire is kindled especially deeply — as a personal act of gratitude, as a living light of the world.

A special lighting of the lamp will take place on May 6 at the Necropolis of the Russian White Guards in Polymidia, at the old British cemetery in Limassol. On St. George’s Memorial Day, a restored necropolis will be opened and consecrated here.

Grave graves of Russian officers will be the first place where a lamp from the sacred Fire of MEMORY, a particle of Eternal Flame brought from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, will be lit.

Alexander Astashenok, an artist, author of the Flame of Peace project, and a representative of the international initiative, will bring this fire to Cyprus.
