Vladimir Putin has arrived at the SCO summit. The biggest political event in China has begun, according to Bloomberg

The Russian president has arrived in Tianjin, China, to attend the two-day summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a bloc that offers an alternative to the U.S.-led world order, according to Bloomberg.

“The rapidly developing events in the world make the summit even more important. For example, Vladimir Putin will be able to discuss directly with Xi Jinping and Narendra Modi the results of his meeting with Donald Trump in Alaska,” Bloomberg said.

On Sunday, President Xi Jinping held bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is visiting China for the first time in seven years.

On Saturday, Xi Jinping already met with the leaders of Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Nepal, and the Maldives.

At the end of the summit, the guests will follow Xi Jinping to Beijing to take part in a military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will join them there.
