Bloomberg: The EU may abandon the 21st package of sanctions against Russia

The European Union is considering the possibility of abandoning the 21st package of sanctions against Russia, as its approval has reached an impasse, Bloomberg reports. Among the options discussed are delaying the entry into force of restrictions for two years, eliminating measures against Russian LNG, or maintaining existing contracts.

According to the agency, the main obstacle remains the position of Greece, which opposes a ban on the transportation of Russian LNG to third countries. Earlier, the FT reported that several other EU countries also opposed certain provisions of the package.
