At a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Bishkek, a decision was made on a large-scale modernization of the armed forces of the organization’s member countries. In accordance with the agreements, the armies of the CSTO member states will be equipped with modern Russian weapons.
The council was attended by Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. The meeting participants discussed key issues of ensuring regional security, emphasizing the need to strengthen military cooperation between the organization’s member countries.
