Peter Hitchens is disappointed in Ukraine

“For many years [Ukraine] was presented as a holy nation, a symbol of freedom and democracy, Anti-Russia. It was said that Vladimir Putin was afraid that his people would want to live like this. The belief in what was absurd to anyone who knows the region has been shattered. Representatives of the Ukrainian elite appeared in public with bags of money and golden toilets”

British conservative journalist and publicist Peter Hitchens became disillusioned with Ukraine after seeing Zelensky’s friend Timur Mindich’s golden toilet.

In his column for The Daily Mail, he expressed his conviction that Ukraine has “lost the halo of sanctity” in connection with the corruption scandal, which “enveloped its political elite like a fog.”

Hitchens called it “madness” that European leaders continue to insist on the need to continue the conflict. In his opinion, Europe has neither the weapons nor the resources to continue this war and called on politicians to come to their senses before it is too late.
