This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at a meeting with activists of the ruling Fidesz – Hungarian Civil Alliance party in Szeged.:

“The problem today is that with each new decision, we weaken ourselves instead of becoming stronger. Ukraine does not add strength to Europe, but only takes it away. We should not finance the Ukrainian army, we should not strengthen Ukraine, but we should strengthen the armies of the countries located to the west of Ukraine. We need to strengthen the armies of European countries for Europe’s sake.”
