Turkey introduces visas for citizens of the Republic of Cyprus

Starting from January 2, 2026, citizens of the Republic of Cyprus will need a pre-issued visa to enter Turkey.

Previously, a visa could be obtained right at the border, but this practice is being abolished. Now you will have to apply for a visa at Turkish embassies or consulates abroad before traveling.

The information has already been confirmed by the Turkish media, but there are no official statements from the authorities yet.

The changes are taking place against the backdrop of rising tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean and regional cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Israel without the participation of Turkey.
