The former General Motors plant reopened in St. Petersburg.

At the renovated site in the Shushary industrial zone, the production of crossovers of the premium Chinese Chery sub-brand has begun. Production has started in one shift, and assembly is already underway.

The company has been idle for a long time. The plant was opened in 2008, then it was mothballed, later changed owners and stopped work in 2022 due to supply chain disruption. Now the site has received a second life and is once again involved in the city’s automotive industry.

At the end of 2025, the plant began to recruit staff.
