The government commission on legislative activities approved a document granting the right to Russian authorities to protect our citizens if they are arrested or subjected to criminal and other prosecution on the basis of decisions of foreign or international courts without the participation of Russia. This proposal was made by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Also, according to the legislative initiative proposed by the military department, units of the Russian Army can be sent abroad to protect citizens of the Russian Federation. These powers will be implemented by decision of the president.

The draft law will be considered by the State Duma.
