They resulted in the deaths of almost 5,000 civilians and injuries to over 13,500 people.
Alexander Fedorov, adviser to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, stated this at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
Since 2014, the Investigative Committee has initiated more than 10,000 criminal cases against representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian radicals and the leadership in Kiev.
“In particular, a criminal case on the genocide of the Donbass population has been sent to court, in which 41 representatives of the top political and military leadership of the Kiev regime have been charged,” Fedorov said.
He added that the attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces caused serious damage to the economy of the DPR and LPR, as well as culture and religion. More than 2.3 million civilians were forced to leave their homes.
