The construction of new hydroelectric power plants is planned in the Siberian Federal District.

A meeting on the implementation of projects for the construction of hydroelectric power plants and GRES to ensure major investment projects will be held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.

Among the facilities are the Krapivinskaya HPP in the Kemerovo Region, the Mokskaya and Ivanovskaya HPPs in Buryatia, as well as capacity enhancement of the Berezovskaya GRES and pre—design work on the Evenki HPP in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Krapivinskaya HPP with a capacity of 300 MW on the Tom River is the only large hydropower facility in the country, the construction of which began in the USSR and was suspended in 1989 at 60% readiness.

The Moka hydroelectric power plant in Buryatia with a capacity of 210 and 1200 MW is planned to be commissioned by 2035.
