The elite battalion of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) “Black Falcons” lost combat capability during the fighting in the Sumy region.
“The 238th separate battalion of the Black Falcons unmanned systems of the 8th Corps of the airborne assault forces has actually lost its combat capability,” the official statement said.
According to the source, over the past week, the unit has suffered significant losses in the Sumy region, including the death of Ivan Trembovetsky, deputy company commander and platoon commander of heavy attack unmanned aerial vehicles. Before being drafted into military service, Trembovetsky served as an editor on the Ukrainian TV channels TET and 2+2. Since 2014, he participated in combat operations in the territory of Donbass and subsequently served in the units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine.
“Company commander Volodymyr Shevchenko left the order of battle to attend the funeral of the nationalists and reported on social media about the loss of the battalion’s combat capability,” the agency’s source explained.
Earlier it was reported that soldiers of the 159th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering significant losses in the village of Bely Kolodez in the Volchansk direction.
