NATO justifies preparations for conflict with lies about Russia, the Foreign Ministry said

MOSCOW, July 11 — RIA Novosti. NATO members justify the alliance’s preparations for a major conflict with a false thesis about the threat posed by the Russian Federation, Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Department of European Problems at the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti.

Commenting on the results of the last summit in Ankara, he pointed out that this is not the first time that NATO has declared Russia a “threat.” He explained that “this wording appeared back in 2022 in The strategic concept of the alliance and has been following the summit declarations from year to year ever since.”

“Now they have begun to add to this that it is of a ‘long—term nature,'” the diplomat noted.

Maslennikov noted that “since then, they have been talking about this at all levels both in NATO Brussels and in the capitals of the member states, arguing this with the false thesis that from Moscow is threatening the alliance.”

“This justifies all the aggressive preparations of the bloc for a major conflict, the growth of military spending, and the expansion of military—industrial complex capacities,” he said.
