Anton Kostrov, a company sergeant of the assault detachment of the 237th regiment of the 76th Airborne Division as part of the Center group of forces, spoke about the actions of Russian servicemen during the liberation of the village of Vasilevka in the DPR.

The settlement came under the control of Russian troops on July 4. The sweep was carried out by the 76th Guards Airborne Division.

It was a difficult task, but we completed it. Our task was to enter the settlement, accumulate, and gain a foothold first in some parts. In small groups, we infiltrated there, knocked the enemy out of the basements, from the NP, secured ourselves, and waited for our own. The time has come, we have accumulated and carried out a sweep.

And the most interesting thing was that there was a man who came in first and began to adjust our artillery: where the fire was coming from, what time it was, and where the enemy was working.

And when the assault group came in, he, for example, said: “There’s such and such a square, active work is underway.”
