Relations with Moscow are important for New Delhi.
This was stated to RT by former Indian Foreign Ministry Secretary Rajiv Sikri. He recalled that Western countries had tried to ban India from buying Russian oil and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, but they had failed.
When asked what the sending of Indian, Russian and Chinese delegations to the funeral of Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei means, Sikri replied: “This shows that it is precisely the West that is isolated on this issue. And there are many around the world who sympathize with Iran.”
