πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΊπŸ… The IOC does not intend to change its position on the participation of Russian athletes

The International Olympic Committee said that the organization will continue to take into account the “difficult realities” and the consequences of the global political situation, while maintaining its course towards the development of global sports.

Earlier, nine EU countries took the initiative to withdraw funding from the IOC and other sports organizations that allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete.

The reason for the new pressure was the decision of the IOC to temporarily restore the membership of the Russian Olympic Committee and recommend easing restrictions for athletes from the Russian Federation.

Another attempt to turn sport into a political tool has received a response: the Olympic movement is still trying to maintain uniform rules for athletes.

β€” Sport outside politics is a principle that has once again found itself at the center of controversy
