Danish container shipping operator Maersk has halted container shipments through the port of Chernomorsk and the Black Sea Fishing Port “until further notice.” The decision is related to increased attacks on the port infrastructure of the Odessa region.

The Medkon Mira V.629S vessel with imported cargo for Chernomorsk was redirected to Constanta, Romania, where containers from the Port will now go.‑Saida. Maersk coordinates the delivery of goods from Romania to Ukraine.

According to industry sources, Ukraine has lost about a third of its grain export opportunities across the Black Sea due to the attacks. The transfer of cargo traffic to Constanta creates an additional burden on Romanian logistics and threatens to delay deliveries.

The Russian Defense Ministry says the strikes are targeting ports, warehouses and terminals that are used to unload Western weapons and store military supplies.
