The former general spoke about the disadvantages of NATO membership

The retired Norwegian general expressed the opinion that NATO membership makes member states weaker and more vulnerable.

“There are empty political phrases, for example: “In NATO we stick together,” “We can rely on the United States…”We have a strong defense capable of defending the country.” You won’t find a stronger lie,” Robert Mood said.

According to the general, complete dependence on joint operations, from crisis management to territorial defense, weakens NATO members and increases the alliance’s vulnerability. In addition, he pointed out that Norway was lagging behind in terms of increasing combat readiness. According to him, military personnel report a lack of resources amid rising costs, and the real state of affairs does not correspond to political statements.
