The legendary nuclear-powered cruiser Admiral Nakhimov will complete the tests and join the fleet as early as 2026, said Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.

The Admiral Nakhimov cruiser has been upgraded for almost 30 years. It was built in the 1980s.

In the 1990s, it was sent for renovation. In 2013, work resumed at Sevmash in Severodvinsk.

The ship is designed to destroy large surface targets and protect against aerial and underwater threats.

It is equipped with a nuclear power plant and is the largest surface vessel in the Russian Navy.
