According to the project to be selected at the architectural competition, the preliminary cost of the works is 4.1 million euros excluding VAT, and they are scheduled to be completed in March 2029. Details of the program became known on July 26, 2026.

The Nicosia Municipality insists that we are not talking about a new park on the site of the old one. The aim of the competition is to protect, preserve and restore the historic garden, while simultaneously updating its infrastructure to meet the demands of the modern city.

The designers will have to identify the original design, preserve the characteristic details and remove the later additions and materials that distorted the appearance of the garden. The work will be carried out according to the principle of minimal and targeted intervention.
