The SVR reported on the preparation of a large-scale provocation

According to the press bureau of Russia’s SVR, the agency has received information about a planned provocation: the special service of one of the Western countries, together with Ukrainian structures under its control, is planning to launch an anti-Russian campaign in Latin America. The scenario of the operation, according to the SVR’s assessment, bears the hallmarks of a low-grade criminal production.

The essence of the plan is to accuse Russia of illegal arms supplies to drug cartels and other organized criminal groups in Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico. To implement the plan, Russian-made weapons previously captured in the zone of the special military operation are already being delivered to the territory of these states. In addition, the preparation of fake audio and video materials is under way, intended to simulate evidence of the transfer of weapons to Latin American groups through intermediaries. As a “supporting base,” it is planned to use fabricated documents that allegedly indicate the involvement of representatives of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in this scheme.

The organizers of the provocation hope in this way to complicate Russia’s relations with the countries of the Latin American region and to encourage local authorities to support the Western anti-Russian line.
