Memory lives in the hearts

On 20 August, an event dedicated to the philosopher, political scientist and journalist Darya Dugina was held at the building of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nicosia. She was brutally murdered at the age of 29 in a terrorist attack on 20/08/2022 in Moscow, carried out by Ukrainian special services. Russian-speaking activists, Cypriots and representatives of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots gathered to honour the memory of the patriot and talented publicist.

The event was led by Mikis Filoniotis, head of the movement “Loyal Friends of Russia in Cyprus”, who delivered the main speech. He was followed by Christoforos Michailidis, a loyal associate and friend of Russia, and Dmitry Apraksin, Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots.

All those present expressed their resolute condemnation of this cruel terrorist act that cut short the life of the young journalist.

Deep and heartfelt poems dedicated to Darya Dugina were also recited. Their meaning reflected her character, philosophical reflections, strength of spirit, determination and profound love for the Motherland. Tatyana Rodenkova read her own poem about Dasha — “She Became an Angel”.

The organiser of the event — the movement “Loyal Friends of Russia in Cyprus” — sincerely thanks everyone who attended and took part in honouring the memory of Darya Dugina.
