🇫🇷 French company Meridiam has acquired a 66% stake in the Great Sea Interconnector project, which is set to link the power systems of Cyprus and Greece. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that this will help end the island’s energy isolation.

💰 The project is estimated to cost around €1.9 billion. The cable is planned to run between Crete and Kofinou, and later be extended to Israel. The next key stage is marine surveys, which are due to resume in September.
