On the day of one of the main Orthodox feasts, the director of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Nicosia, Evgeny Demin, visited Kykkos Monastery — one of the main Orthodox shrines of Cyprus.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the head of the administration of the central Kykkos Monastery of the Church of Cyprus, Hierodeacon Maximos Kykkotis.

The parties discussed the possibilities of joint projects aimed at preserving and promoting traditional spiritual and moral values in the Republic of Cyprus.

Kykkos Monastery has for centuries maintained special ties with Russia. The monastery enjoyed the support of Russian tsars and patrons, received Russian pilgrims, and maintained spiritual connections with the Russian Orthodox tradition.

Today this history continues in new forms — through dialogue, cooperation and joint projects.
