The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, announced that an agreement has been reached on BRICS Pay — a payment system for the BRICS countries. The statement was made against the backdrop of the Business Forum in New Delhi.

“Today we will announce an agreement on BRICS Pay — essentially a payment system for the BRICS countries,” Dmitriev told the Telegram channel Yunashev Live.

According to him, financial cooperation remains one of the key areas of the group’s work. The task of BRICS is not only to be a strong geopolitical platform, but also to shape economic, investment and financial solutions that unite the member states.

The main events of the 18th BRICS summit will take place on 12–13 September. At the centre of the agenda are the development of trade ties, investment and settlement infrastructure among the countries of the grouping.
