At the International Youth Festival 2026 in Yekaterinburg, Irina Chadina, chair of the youth policy committee, signed memoranda of understanding with the head of the Cypriot festival committee.

The agreements are aimed at a long-term partnership: exchange of experience, joint projects and the development of friendly ties. The parties will cooperate in education, science, sports, media and the arts.

The head of the committee was presented with a Novgorod souvenir — a cera, a wooden tablet covered with wax on which people wrote with a stylus in ancient times.

The region already has strong ties with Cyprus under the “Cultural Patronage” programme.
