S&P has upgraded Cyprus’s credit rating to “A”

S&P Global Ratings has raised Cyprus’s long-term and short-term credit ratings from A- to A/A-1. This is the country’s first return to the “A” category since 2011. S&P links the upgrade primarily to the ongoing reduction of public and external debt, resilient services exports, and inflows of foreign investment. The rating outlook remains positive.
