📅 On September 30 at 19:00, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Nicosia will host a screening of the documentary film “Donbass: The Path to Peace,” timed to the Day of Reunification of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Luhansk People’s Republic, Zaporizhzhia Region and Kherson Region with the Russian Federation.
This commemorative date is observed every year on September 30 — the day in 2022 when the treaties on the accession of the four regions to the Russian Federation were signed.
The film addresses the history of Donbass and its ties with Russia, recounts the formation and development of the region, its economic, scientific and cultural significance, and the people who over generations built its industrial potential.
Through historical testimony, documentary materials and the views of participants in the events, the authors show the past and present of Donbass — from the reconstruction of cities and enterprises after the severe trials of the 20th century to the current processes of restoring the region.
