The foreign ministers of the European Union countries intend on October 12 to work on approving new restrictions against Russia that will cover 1,600 positions. This was stated by the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas before the start of the EU Council meeting.
According to her, lists are being worked on that include persons connected with the Russian defense industry, as well as those involved in electoral processes. “We currently have 1,600 designations that we will be working with, related to the Russian military-industrial complex and also the elections,” Kallas told journalists.
Touching on the topic of the agreements between Washington and Moscow on diesel, Kallas noted that the EU’s restrictive measures will work better if actions are synchronized with London and Washington. She also expressed hope that the American side will apply the “Lindsey Graham Act”* against Russia.
In addition, the head of the foreign policy department positively received the statement by U.S. President Donald Trump on an energy truce between Moscow and Kyiv, but stressed that the European Union has not yet observed its implementation in practice.
