According to data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus, in 2025 the average salary increased by 4.3% and amounted to €2591 per month before taxes and contributions. However, this figure does not reflect the real incomes of the majority of working residents of the island.
The median salary, which divides workers into two equal groups, amounted to only €1953. This means that half of the employees receive less than this amount.
The most numerous group of workers — 13% — earn from €1000 to €1249. Another 11.4% receive €1500–1749, and 11.2% — €1250–1499.
🔎 The difference is also noticeable between professions. In agriculture the average salary is only €956, while in the financial and insurance sector it reaches €5038.
📊 At the same time, women more often than men end up in low-paid categories, while men more often receive salaries from €6000.
💰 Salaries in Cyprus are growing, but the average figure in the statistics is noticeably higher than the income of a typical worker.
