Rosatom has presented the new industrial 3D printer RusMelt 100M. The unit was fully developed and is produced in Russia at the site of the Moscow Center for Additive Technologies.
The new printer weighs less than 800 kg and does not require a special foundation, reinforced floors, or a separate production facility. It uses the technology of laser melting of metal powder and can work with stainless steel, titanium, nickel, aluminum, and other alloys.
Thanks to the compact working chamber, the printer consumes less materials and protective gas. According to the developers, the cost of manufacturing parts is 2–4 times lower than on large industrial installations.
