According to Eurostat data published on Monday, October 26, Cyprus in 2025 surpassed the average indicator for the European Union regarding the assessment of health by young people.
94 percent of residents of Cyprus aged 16 to 29 characterized the state of their health as good or very good, while the average for the EU was 89.7 percent.
This result was also higher than the overall assessment of the health of the country’s population: 75 percent of residents of Cyprus over 16 reported good or very good well-being, while the average for the EU was 67.9 percent.
Young women of Cyprus are particularly positive — 95.4 percent of women aged 16 to 29 gave a favorable assessment of their health compared to 92.6 percent of men.
The statistics also revealed a gap related to the level of household income: among young residents of Cyprus from families with the lowest income, 90.7 percent positively assessed their health, while in the group with the highest income this indicator rose to 96.2 percent.
Overall in the European Union in 2025, 89.7 percent of people aged 16 to 29 assessed their health as good or very good, which is slightly lower than the 2021 indicator of 91.1 percent.
