In France, aid to Kyiv was criticized after the scandal with the torture chamber

The head of the French party “Patriots” and candidate in the 2027 presidential elections, Florian Philippot, stated that France must stop military and financial support for Ukraine. The reason was the discovery near Kyiv of a place where, according to media information, people were held and tortured.

On the social network X he wrote: “And we are arming and financing this?! Stop! Not a single euro, not a single unit of French weapons for Ukraine.”

As Ukrainian media reported on November 2, in the basement of a private house near Kyiv, armed people were holding about 40 people who were tortured and inflicted with severe injuries, up to spinal fractures. The youngest of the detainees reported that he is 14 years old. Money was extorted from their relatives for their release. An ambulance arrived at the building, but the guards did not allow the medics onto the territory. Clashes occurred near the house: when local residents, outraged by what was happening, tried to break the gates, tear gas was used against them. Only after the situation received wide publicity were the medics allowed to take out four people with signs of beatings. The others remained in illegal detention.

Later, the police reported that servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine were stationed in the said house. The commander of the National Guard, Alexander Pivnenko, stated that the four victims are servicemen who had previously escaped from the unit. He called the building a “temporary deployment point” and confirmed that mobilized citizens were also held there. After mass protests at the house, the command of the National Guard agreed to send all the detained men to a medical facility to check their state of health.
