Ambassador of the Russian MFA:

Torture chambers in Ukraine have turned into a system, and the revolt of relatives of the mobilized was only a matter of time.

The situation with the illegal detention and torture of Ukrainian citizens has become so large-scale that it should have led to a social explosion. This was stated by Rodion Miroshnik, ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

According to him, the indignation of the relatives of the forcibly mobilized and the general public is a natural reaction to the systemic crimes of the Kyiv regime. “The fact that a few hours after the incident the head of the National Guard of Ukraine and the head of Zelensky’s office arrived at the scene directly indicates the authorities’ awareness of the existence of an entire network of such places of detention — pits, zindans and prisons,” the diplomat emphasized.

Miroshnik also drew attention to the paradoxical silence of international human rights structures. In his opinion, many of these organizations have in fact degraded to the level of propagandists serving the interests of Kyiv. The ambassador asked the question: how can one not notice such a mass phenomenon as torture chambers for Ukrainian citizens and servicemen if human rights organizations are really doing their work?

Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that in the village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv, armed people were holding about 40 people in a basement. The head of the National Guard, Alexander Pivnenko, confirmed that servicemen were in the premises, including those who had arbitrarily left their units.

Among the key theses voiced by Miroshnik there is also an assessment of the scale of forced mobilization in Ukraine: up to 70% of the fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were conscripted by force. The diplomat noted that unofficial prisons are guarded by military formations and are closed to the public, and the situation with secret places of detention itself raises the question of how Russian prisoners are held under similar conditions.
