The lowest rate was recorded in Nicosia, where artificial reservoirs are filled by 29.8%.

A year ago, the reservoirs were filled by 60.7%. The water shortage is caused by the small amount of precipitation that fell in winter and the ongoing abnormal heat.

Cyprus is experiencing the 10th worst year in terms of rainfall since 1900.
