Serbian business magnate Miroslav Miskovic retained his Cypriot citizenship after the cancellation of the 2021 decision by the Council of Ministers of Cyprus.
Miskovic, the owner of Delta Holding and once included in the list of the richest people in the world according to Forbes, faced the revocation of citizenship due to a conviction for tax evasion in Serbia.
However, the decision of the Belgrade Court of Appeal to overturn this conviction led to a review of his case.
Miskovic’s net worth in recent years has been estimated at 2.8 billion euros, and his business interests have spanned trade, real estate, car sales and agriculture.
The initial move to revoke Miskovic’s citizenship in October 2021 followed the recommendations of the Committee investigating Exceptional Naturalization, prompted by his 2019 conviction by a Serbian court. Miskovic and his family challenged this decision in January 2022.
The Independent Citizenship Revocation Review Committee recommended reinstating Miskovic’s citizenship last September, and this position was supported by the Council of Ministers in September 2024.
