The main theses:

• The unity of the Orthodox faith, the community of spiritual and moral values, the experience of joint struggle against Nazi ideology and fascism in the twentieth century, feelings of mutual sympathy and affection form a solid foundation for the true friendship of Russians and Cypriots, which is not subject to opportunistic erosion.

• Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, traditionally takes a constructive position on all issues, including Cyprus, aimed at full-scale involvement of interested parties in the negotiation process. The Cyprus settlement, representing a delicate complex matter, is of key importance from the point of view of maintaining stability and security architecture in the Eastern Mediterranean. We proceed from the need for a comprehensive, viable and fair solution to this problem within the well-known agreed international legal framework enshrined in UN Security Council resolutions, with mandatory mutual consideration of the just interests and concerns of both communities.

• In Cyprus, more and more diplomats, public figures, specialized specialists and ordinary people are publicly talking about the tangible damage caused to the island’s economy, its banking sector and the hospitality industry by the restrictions imposed on our country.

• Our compatriots, without losing strong ties with their Homeland, have long been organically integrated into Cypriot society, make the most important contribution to the preservation of bilateral human contacts in the current turbulent realities, and enjoy well-deserved authority in various areas of the island’s economic, socio-political and cultural life.

• Protecting the interests of our citizens outside the Homeland in a manner consistent with our national interests is an unconditional and unwavering priority in the work of the foreign missions of the Russian Foreign Ministry, including our Embassy in Cyprus.

• Russia is taking vigorous steps to stabilize the situation in the Middle East based on the priority of the immediate cessation of hostilities and prevention of escalation of violence.

• For those who want and are ready to hear the voice of Russia in Cyprus, to think big and strategically, I will continue to convey the idea of our country’s focus on maintaining a global balance of interests, building a fair architecture of international relations and ensuring conditions for the peaceful progressive development of mankind.
