30% — decrease in foreign currency sales by Russian exporters due to the transition to rubles

Up to $8.3 billion — by 30% — Russia’s largest exporters reduced the sale of foreign currency in September. In August, the figure was at the level of 11.9 billion dollars. The reason is the change in the structure of export settlements, in which rubles have become increasingly important, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation states

In September, for the first time since August 2023, Russian citizens switched from purchases of foreign currency to sales, selling it for 55 billion rubles. In September last year, Russian citizens, on the contrary, bought 56.8 billion rubles worth of foreign currency
