The Larnaca authorities have taken measures to strengthen security on the Finikoudes embankment.

The mayor of the city, Andreas Viras, and the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnaoutis, announced the installation of an additional police checkpoint on this street. This decision is aimed at preventing offenses and incidents that have become more frequent recently.

The official statement emphasizes that the police will provide useful information to citizens and generally increase the safety of vacationers. Regular foot patrols of the embankment and adjacent streets will also be organized. A meeting with representatives of various departments, including the Ministry of Immigration, is planned to comprehensively solve the problem.

Mayor Viras noted the importance of immediate and effective actions to eliminate the criminal situation in the Finikoudes area so that residents and visitors of the city could feel safe. The meeting also discussed the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between the municipality and the police to implement advanced solutions aimed at ensuring the security of Larnaca.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief of Police, the Director of the Larnaca Police, as well as senior police officers and representatives of the municipality, including the Municipal Secretary.
