The exhibition was created on the instructions of the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov. At the opening, the mayor called for remembering the lessons of the past, as well as drawing conclusions about who Russia is really fighting on Ukrainian territory.

“Our soldiers are winning, they are hitting these cars, they are burning the same way they burned during the Great Patriotic War. I would like to remind you that already in August 1941, the first exhibition of damaged German tanks and machines was already at our place on Solyanoy Lane, where the Museum of the defense and blockade of Leningrad was organized. Our warriors are fighting with dignity, as our fathers and grandfathers fought, and we will definitely win. Victory will be ours!” — the official concluded.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Admiral Alexander Moiseev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, and Lieutenant General Rustam Minnekaev, Acting Commander of the Leningrad Military District.

The exhibition features 22 samples of foreign equipment manufactured in the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Turkey, France, Finland and Ukraine. Guided tours are conducted by instructors who will tell you not only about the weapons presented, but also about the circumstances of the capture of a particular unit.
