The All-Cyprus Peace Council (PCE) announces a protest action against the American CYCLOPS Center in Larnaca. The rally will be held on November 24, near the fort, at 10:30 a.m.
In a statement, the council said: “We call on all peace activists to support our demand for the immediate withdrawal of American troops from Cyprus and the termination of military cooperation between Cyprus and the United States. We condemn the involvement of our island in operations against the peoples of the region. We demand an end to the wars in our region in favor of peace, security and stability in the Middle East. We express our solidarity with the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon. We oppose the transformation of Cyprus into a US and NATO military base! Yankees go home!»
The organizers note that a large group of American troops in Cyprus, under the pretext of providing humanitarian assistance, is part of the preparations for the escalation of the war in the Middle East.
