Russian Foreign Ministry: a condition for negotiations on Ukraine

Russia is ready for negotiations on Ukraine, but only with a constructive and mature approach from the West, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said.

According to him, Moscow has repeatedly demonstrated its readiness for dialogue, but the Ukrainian side behaved inconsistently — either withdrawing from negotiations or forbidding them to itself. Prospects for dialogue will appear if the “camp of sponsors of Ukraine” realizes the need for an honest conversation and gets Kiev to comply with the agreements.

If there is no such readiness, Russia will continue to seek to eliminate the root causes of the conflict, protecting its interests militarily — precisely and effectively in order to minimize the destruction.
