Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow does not intend to hold negotiations with the West, despite the hopes of Western countries to the contrary. He made the statement in a conversation with journalists at the United Russia party congress on 22 August.
“All the Western states that declared war on us with the hands and bodies of the Nazi regime in Kyiv have for many years hoped that we would come to them to negotiate. We will not come to them to negotiate,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to Lavrov, it is not possible to negotiate with modern Europe because it is “once again permeated with the metastases of Nazism.” The minister also stressed that Russia’s main task is to prevent the revival of Nazism in this region.
