COMMENT BY THE OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY , M.V.ZAKHAROVA , IN CONNECTION WITH THE LATEST ATTACKS BY THE KIEV REGIME ON THE CITY OF ENERGODAR

On June 19 and 21, the Kiev regime carried out regular terrorist attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles on the satellite city of Energodar, located near the Zaporizhia NPP (ZAES), where the station employees and their family members live. As a result of the impact, the Luch electric substation was destroyed, the Raduga electric substation was damaged. As a result of the aggression on the Raduga substation, the regular functioning of a number of NPP units that are not directly related to nuclear safety has been disrupted.

It is not the first time that the Zelensky regime has clearly demonstrated its terrorist nature and complete disregard for the safety of peaceful nuclear facilities, which, in particular, is manifested in the persistent creation of threats to the fulfillment of their duties by the staff of the NPP, as well as in attempts to exert external pressure on the decisions taken by the staff of the station.

Since the reunification of the NPP with the Russian nuclear “family”, our country has been making significant efforts aimed at creating not only appropriate working conditions for the plant’s personnel, but also at improving the socio-economic standard of living in Energodar and restoring the appropriate infrastructure. We are doing everything necessary to ensure that the people living there do not need anything and are protected from the criminal provocations of the Kiev junta.

In addition to the physical threat posed by regular shelling, the employees of the NPP and their family members, including children, are under constant psychological pressure, and messages from the special services of Ukraine continue to arrive in their name, containing threats to their life and health. And, apparently, the Kiev regime does not intend to abandon the policy of intimidation and exhausting blackmail of the station staff initiated by it.

The systematic attacks by the Kiev regime on both the NPP and other Russian energy facilities demonstrate a well-established and purposeful tendency to cause unacceptable damage to the economy of the Russian Federation and create risks of man-made accidents that could jeopardize the nuclear safety of the entire European continent.

Thus, the Kiev regime continues to prove its terrorist nature.

Being aware of the complete incompetence of the Zelensky regime, our country will take all necessary measures against it in order to deprive the Kiev regime of the opportunity to launch such strikes.
