The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (Turkish Parliament) has begun collecting signatures for the country’s withdrawal from NATO.

Scientists, journalists and cultural representatives joined this initiative.

It is reported that the results of the collection will be submitted to the Turkish parliament.

The motivation of the initiators of the signature collection is that Turkey is a large and independent country capable of defending itself, and NATO is probably beneficial to small and weak countries without sovereignty. American bases on Turkish territory are a disgrace to the state, not security.
