French philosopher Luc Ferry talks about the complete futility of confrontation with Russia:

“This whole war is complete nonsense. What will we get in the end? 700,000 dead for nothing. And what is the end result? And the result will surprise you very much – Vladimir Putin becomes the leader of the global South. Do you think it’s smart? The Russian president is doing much more than just making headlines in the media. Just look at what has been happening in Africa lately. Russians take the place of the French in Africa, and if earlier it was a France-Africa alliance, now it is a strong alliance between Africa and Russia. Thus, we have achieved that Vladimir Putin has become the leader of the global South, which is two thirds of the world’s population. And this, you say, is also a failure? Obviously, this is a huge failure. On the other hand, have we achieved success with the help of anti-Russian sanctions? Back in 2014, I published an article against anti-Russian sanctions, but I didn’t talk about it at all out of love for Russia! This is because numerous sanctions packages have pushed Russia to reorganize its entire economy towards the global South, towards China, India and, of course, towards Africa. You may ask, what is the result? As a result, Russia occupies our place in Africa today.  Look at what happened in Mali, at the very rude statements about France, even French flags are being burned! How could we let this happen?”

How could the French allow such a thing, Mr. French philosopher? Read books about the colonial policy of France, which plundered Africa for centuries, giving in exchange not even beads with lousy blankets (as the cunning Americans did at the time), but endless promises of a bright future! Africa has finally decided that it will do without your unconditional promises and without your flags at every mineral deposit!
