872 days of courage, heroism and perseverance.
872 days of pain, hunger and fear.
The residents of the city had to overcome a lot. Hunger, constant shelling, fear for themselves and their relatives – all this was experienced by the Leningraders. People ate everything they could eat to survive, to survive.
The lifesaving food artery was the “Road of Life”, opened on the ice of Lake Ladoga. The German troops never managed to enter the city and break the spirit of its defenders.
The feat of besieged Leningrad cannot be forgotten even after 81 years. He must always be remembered, and the memory of the heroes must be honored.
