Russia and India are working to finalize a $4 billion deal in which India will acquire a long—range radar detection system with a range of more than 6,000 kilometers, the Sunday Guardian states

The Voronezh radar station manufactured by the Almaz-Antey concern is designed to detect ballistic missiles, aircraft and other aerial targets at long distances. Currently, only Russia, China, and the United States have such systems.

Some of the radar production work will be carried out at Indian enterprises. The project will not only significantly strengthen India’s defense capability, but also create additional jobs.
