In 2024, the cost of buying new cars increased by 57% and amounted to almost 5 trillion rubles. This is the highest result in five years, and in dollar terms, the market has reached its highest result since 2014. A total of 1.57 million cars were sold.
Lada became the sales leader with 436.2 thousand cars sold. The Chinese Haval took the second place with a result of 190.6 thousand cars. Also in the top were Chery (157 thousand), Geely (149.1 thousand) and Changan (106.1 thousand).
Chinese cars confidently hold the lead, accounting for 62% of all costs. In December, Russians spent 242.6 billion rubles on cars from China, and 68.8 billion rubles on domestic models.
